Comments: One may make a humidity detector using a shoe box, a straw, a pin a human hair and some tape. 1, Take a long blond human hair, wash it in deturgent and dry it in the air. 2, tape one end to the top of a shoe box. 3, cut a drinking straw to about 2 inches long with 1 end pointed and tape the pointy end together. 4, tape the other end of the hair to the middle of the straw. 5, pin the straw to the box so that the point of the straw is pointing slightly above the horizontal. 6, place the box in a room with lots of steam, ie bathroom with the shower running or next to a boiling kettle. 7, mark where the straw points (100% humidity). 8, dry the hair out using a hair drier. 9, mark where the straw points (0% humidity) 10, check where the straw points each morning to predict relative humidity. pointing slightly above the horizontal
