The team who built this robotic wheelchair for this child first learned a lot about building things by entering robot competitions. Do you think they felt ready to address this new challenge with their current level of training?
What challenges do you think the students faced when building the wheelchair?
Does the design of the wheelchair depend on the age of the individual using the wheelchair?
Looking at the picture, pick three elements of the wheelchair and discuss what decisions went into making that part in the shape and material that is seen in the photo. Wheels? Base? Controller? Safety harnesses?
Is there anyone in our community who could use some help? How can we use technology to help them? What would we need, or what would we need to know in order to get the job done?
